About Us

High Sierra Wild Horse Sanctuary and Gentling Center was established to help provide a safe haven or temporary home for titled BLM mustangs and burros when their owners are faced with unforeseen circumstances. We are also an educational resource for owners, adopters and trainers of all breeds of equines.

Nadia and Joe Lane, founders of HSWHS, live on their private horse ranch in Lake Isabella, CA.

Nadia Lane has been saving animals for over a decade and she places them in Foster Ranches and Adoptive Homes. 

HSWHS is a non-profit 501C3 organization that provides food, shelter, and care for rescued animals such as:

• Horses
• Burros
• Canines
